    Stop Press !!!

Just confirmed ... The next Isle of Wight Jazz Festival will now take place in Spring 2006 Friday 7 April ~ Sunday 9 April
Watch this space for more details.

Photographs of this year's Jazz Festival available here!
Jazz Diary - a few Island dates I know of. If you know more mail me!

At last the Jazz Festival 2005 site ... but wasn't that weekend worth waiting for ... Congratulations to everybody who made this wonderful weekend possible. Organisers, Committee, Festival Director, the Venue Owners, our sponsors, our artistes, and of course you the audience.

Site Design   What's happening to the Photos?

As before I went for a fairly simple layout - my priority was to make the photos available to those who took part. Gross errors and omissions will be fixed, but not much else. I do have a day job!

The first photos went to the local newspaper - the Isle of Wight County Press , which came out Friday 15 April. A full page - broadsheet size - on the Festival that was all good and positive. Lots of photos and write-ups. Some interesting sub-editing - or lack of it. Nothing on their site - you'll have to buy the paper!

The photographs are laid out along the idea of the Festival Programme. If you can remember where you were on what day, then you can go to the photographs of that event.
This isn't an attempt at a Festival Brochure. Eventually, all the photos and web gallery may become part of the Isle of Wight Jazz Festival site - watch that space.
My photos are available on the web for all of you (or your agent, if you have one) to use for publicity about your participation in this wonderful event.
And of course there will publicity in the national and music press. This web site now has a "web photo gallery" of the digital photographs that I took. By clicking on a thumbnail you'll see a higher resolution picture. You can then print that out or save it to disk.
Reprints are available, currently at cost + post and packing, if you can't access the internet, or you want higher quality prints than the on-line pictures can provide. Use the number under the thumbnail for that artiste as the reference (eg, 207, 613) and mail me with your order.
Provisional 2005 prices for digital are shown below, most dimensions in inches. You can do it yourself - see opposite.
If you want a higher quality copy then we'll have to work out how to make that happen (references to day job again!). The original JPEGs are about 800Kb, the RAW files are 5 to 6Mb.

If you can't easily print them out, have a look at the Arrow File Photobox Service - usual disclaimers ;-) I've used them to good effect for up to poster size (20"x30"). Just register and then drop any downloaded pictures from my site to theirs. Don't forget the copyright of the pictures remain with me

Copyright
These photographs are there as a tribute to the you - the performers, and the organisers. If you wish to use them for your publicity material (brochures, fliers, press releases, even your own web sites) than you can do so for free, providing that you acknowledge my intellectual property rights (IPR) ©John Clack. The easy way to do that is simply with a credit, either under the photographs, or together with any other credits for the material.
If you want to use the photographs as part of something you're actually going sell (artwork on a CD - yes it happened after the 2002 Festival, articles for a magazine, etc) then you need to talk to me first.

I was running the fabulous Wight Light Gallery venue, and didn't take photographs of all the sessions ...
To view photographs of the artistes just click on the links below (the underlined part of the text).
When you've finished looking at the photos just close that window and you'll come back to this page again.
