Congratulations to everybody who took part in this wonderful weekend. As a enthusiastic member of the audience it was a privilege to see so much talent, and so many people giving so freely of their time and their creative energy. A big "well done" and "thank you" to all the artistes. A special mention to the super resident trio of Nick, Jeff and Trevor, who surely underlined the old saying about 5% inspiration and 95% perspiration - what a lot of hard work! and of course to Abigail Hellens and Laurie Holloway for featuring the Marion Montgomery Awards competition as a central theme of the Jazz Divas Festival. All the finalists were winners - I'm just glad I didn't have to be one of the judges! |

I went for a fairly simple layout - my priority was to make the photos available to those who took part. I may do some tidying up later - some titles, and navigation hints, but I do have a day job! |
The first photos went to the local newspaper - the Isle of Wight County Press , which came out Friday 20 September. A half page - broadsheet size - on the Festival that was all good and positive. Interviews with mum-of-two Emily Strode, Liverpudlian SuEyo, charismatic 38-year old Mancunian Tom Rust, and Mr Saul, pianist, publican and co-event director. Pictures of Emily, the Goose Island Syncopators, and of course - the trophy. Nothing on their site - you'll have to buy the paper! |

| The
photographs are laid out along the idea of the Festival Programme. If you
can remember where you were on what day, then you can go to the photographs
of that event. This isn't an attempt at a Festival Brochure. Eventually, all the photos and web gallery may become part of the Ventnor Jazz Divas Festival site - watch that space. |
My photos are available on the web for all of you (or your agent, if you have one) to use for publicity about your participation in this wonderful event. Adrian Searle has already sent the photos of SuEyo to newpapers in the northwest of England. | ||
| And of course there will publicity in the national and music press. This web site now has a "web photo gallery" of the analogue (that is, old-fashioned film) photographs that I took. By clicking on a thumbnail you'll see a higher resolution picture. You can then print that out or save it to disk. | |||
